Hello! Welcome to Season 43 of Jeopardy! and daily coverage of the show here at The Jeopardy! Fan. Back on July 24, Matthew Riggle became a 2-day champion; today, he goes for win #3, as we meet challengers Bryan Lee, originally from Falls Church, Virginia, and Emily Mayo of Brooklyn.
If you took the summer off, you should know that Season 4 of Jeopardy! Masters aired. You can catch up on Hulu in the United States and CTV On Demand / Crave in Canada. You probably also noticed that things look slightly different since I last saw you near the end of July. In August, I made the largest change to my website since December 2015 in that I have switched "content management systems" from WordPress to Labrador. Things may not look 100% right now, as I am still tweaking the look and feel of the website to look exactly how I want it to. If you see that something doesn't look right, tell me! (My contact information is on the About page.)
I should also note that there has been a slight change to the early airings of the show. WBBJ in Jackson, TN no longer airs the show at 11:00 AM Central; the airtime there has moved to 3:30 PM Central. While I will continue to publish at 9:00 AM Eastern for the sake of the regular readership that has developed a routine of coming to the page around that time, the show's first airing does not occur until 11:30 AM Central (12:30 PM Eastern), on KTRK in Houston, TX. Thus, results will not be posted until around shortly after 1:00 PM Eastern.

In 1944, the designers of what became the Vespa scooter were unhappy with their design for what was then the MP5, and they consulted with aeronautical engineer Corradino D'Ascanio. Believing motorcycles to be dirty and unreliable, D'Ascanio made a number of changes to eliminate many of those issues, including mounting the engine directly behind the rear wheel, which allowed for the drive chain to be eliminated. When the MP6 prototype was unveiled, Enrico Piaggio (company founder) said, "Sembra una vespa!" ("It looks like a wasp!" in Italian)—and the name "Vespa" stuck. Sales of the Vespa took off outside of Italy after Audrey Hepburn rode one in Roman Holiday, and the company is still producing vehicles.
For me, I found this to be a relatively straightforward opening Final Jeopardy of the season, but one might need at least a passing interest in automotive brands in order to get this one. We shall see how it plays!
