Here's today's Final Jeopardy (in the category Historic Vessels) for Thursday, October 22, 2026 (Season 43, Game 29):

Now part of a Connecticut museum, this vessel traveled 1,830 miles in a novel way as part of Operation Northwest Passage

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today's Jeopardy! contestants:

Christine Bobal, an English language teacher from Warrenton, Virginia
Carson Davis, a nursery worker from Missoula, Montana
Anthony Cantor, a television & podcast producer from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Anthony enters today's game as a 3-day champion with winnings of $58,800.

Andy's Pregame Thoughts:

Yesterday, Anthony Cantor of Toronto won his third game in succession; today, he looks to pick up win #4 against Carson Davis—who I'm sure was disappointed not to be drawn into the Missoula game earlier in the week—and Christine Bobal—whose Online Quiz League performances thus far make me think that she might be a force in today's game. (Of course, sometimes my crystal ball is faulty, as we all saw yesterday.)

A couple of notes on the YouTube front: Firstly, at 9:00 PM Eastern and exclusively on Jeopardy!'s YouTube channel, we have Volume 2 of Jeopardy! YouTube Edition between Michelle Khare, Angela Giarratana, and Mythical Chef Josh Scherer. (I'll be posting a separate page later for the recap and statistics from that game.) Secondly, my own YouTube content—the Jeopartalk podcast—will be recording its next episode at 6:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, October 25. As always, I'm happy to have friends and contestants join me. If you're interested, contact me by any method you have for me. (An email address is in my About section.)

Finally, the following is a history lesson for the one other site who has also been doing recaps for over a decade as well: Your comments section in the mid-2010s was littered with the predators and stalkers that the community was trying to rid itself of, and was never fully able to because you gave them a space to discuss the show. So, I felt I needed to get back into the space back then to give my own friends a safe space for discussion, where those stalkers were not in the comments daily. If only you had followed the community's requests to rid your site of the people it did not want, I probably would have found something else to do with my life in late 2015, instead of making my Act 2 this website.

More Information About Final Jeopardy!:

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2026 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

On January 20, 2025, Jeopardy!'s Final Jeopardy said, in part, "its journey from New London to Norway in 1957 opened up Arctic waters previously ruled by the Soviets". A year later, the nuclear-powered Nautilus became the first submarine to sail underneath the North Pole, on a trip between Pearl Harbor and Iceland (the "Operation Northwest Passage" referring to the full journey.) On the journey, the submarine spent 1,830 miles under ice, going under the ice at Point Barrow, Alaska, and resurfacing in the Atlantic between Spitzbergen and Greenland. (That specific part of the journey was called "Operation Sunshine".) As I said back in 2025, the Nautilus is preserved at the Submarine Force Library and Museum in Groton, Connecticut.

How much did you remember from the Nautilus clue back in 2025? Or did you get this one from some other way?
