Today's Jeopardy! contestants:
Rian enters today's game as a 4-day champion with winnings of $64,101.
Andy's Pregame Thoughts:
For the second time, we have a 4-time champion looking to become the 297th 5-time champion since Jeopardy! returned to North American airwaves in 1984; today, Rian Robertson is looking to reach that threshold. Meanwhile, John Edwards of Brooklyn and Anne Damtoft of Silver Spring are hoping to take up residence at the champion's lectern themselves; Anne, a library support coordinator, feels like she could be a strong challenger solely due to her occupation—librarians are a modern powerhouse when it comes to Jeopardy!.
As was briefly mentioned last night on my Jeopartalk podcast interview with Adam Bundy, the Second Chance chances of players who come really close to defeating a player of Rian's caliber go up the more times Rian wins, so those players are definitely cheering for Rian to keep winning!

Ronald Galotti, who for a time dated Candace Bushnell, a The New York Observer columnist whose columns were adopted into the global hit television series Sex and the City, starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw (essentially Bushnell's alter ego. Galotti, who met Bushnell at a party, served as the inspiration for the character Mr. Big on the series.
I feel as though I personally am the right age for this to be a straightforward Final Jeopardy clue; I'm always thinking that regular-play Final Jeopardy needs to be pitched easier than it's been playing recently—the prize money doesn't matter as much to me, but easier Final Jeopardy clues keep the betting strategy honest, getting players to bet for the win.

Andy's Thoughts:
I have to say, it sounds like Anne is definitely the sort of person very into Warhammer 40k, especially after describing her hobby as "paints little miniatures".
While the exact number doesn't show up in my suggestions today, I do want to mention that I liked Rian's Final Jeopardy bet a great deal, as it demonstrates exactly why Anne made a poor Final Jeopardy bet. It's not a situation for John to bet $0, and forcing John to make a wager and be correct is defending against a happenstance so rare that worrying about it actually harms Anne's chances of winning, as it lets Rian back into contention.
Today's J!6 clues can be found at the monthly archive.
Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: John $20,400 Anne $15,600 Rian $6,800)
Rian: You have to be correct to win; thus, you might as well go all in. (However, you do need to bet at least $2,800 to make sure you're ahead of John's cover wager.) (Actual bet: $4,001)
John: Standard cover bet is $10,801. (Actual bet: $10,801)
Anne: You really should keep Rian locked out here; limit your bet to no more than $1,999. (Actual bet: $4,801)
