Today's Jeopardy! contestants:

Jon Barilone, a public relations & marketing consultant from Aliso Viejo, California
Tamara O'Flaherty, a lawyer from New York, New York
Erica Doornek, a federal employee originally from Glasgow, Montana

Erica enters today's game as a 2-day champion with winnings of $39,000.

Andy's Pregame Thoughts:

On this Election Day, Erica Doornek of Montana—already the state's biggest money-winner ever on the show with her $39,000 in winnings—is still 2 wins short of tying Liz Barnea of Billings, who won 4 times on the show in April 1990. A third win would see a return to the Alex Trebek Stage at the Champions Wildcard level of the postseason at minimum; however, Tamara O'Flaherty of New York and Jon Barilone of Aliso Viejo, California both would like a second appearance on the Alex Trebek Stage themselves. Certainly, one thing that has worked to Erica's advantage thus far is the old adage of "Know what you don't know"—she's only had 1 incorrect response in 2 games, while her opponents have combined for 21 over the same span.

The biggest concern about Election Day in the heart and mind of the Jeopardy! fan, though, is the fact that network coverage of election results will affect the airing of the show in markets throughout the United States, especially in the 78.2% of American households where the show airs at 6:00 PM Eastern or later. Matt Carberry does his best to track the preemptions on a Google Sheet, but he can only do so much, especially in areas where the actual station choice does not match what ends up on the listings. My best advice is to check your local listings or program guides, and it should also be noted that the show does stream today's episode beginning tomorrow morning on its streaming partners: Hulu, Peacock, and Crave—you'll have one week to catch it. (The fact that next-day streaming exists is certainly a reason why the show isn't as concerned as it might have otherwise been about preemptions; a day like today will undoubtedly result in an uptick in streaming access.)

Yellow, as seen in many of Vincent van Gogh's works—especially those involving sunflowers—featured prominently in the funerary items following the famed artist's 1890 passing; as Emile Bernard wrote to Albert Aurier, "The coffin was covered with a simple white cloth and surrounded with masses of flowers, the sunflowers that he loved so much, yellow dahlias, yellow flowers everywhere. It was, you will remember, his favourite colour, the symbol of the light that he dreamed of as being in people's hearts as well as in works of art."
