Today's Jeopardy! contestants:
Stefanie enters today's game as a 1-day champion with winnings of $19,400.
Andy's Pregame Thoughts:
We have a new champion in Maryland professor Stefanie Landeweer, who won from second yesterday after lead player Spencer Murphy (who has a very strong Second Chance resume) was unable to get Final Jeopardy correct. Today, she faces off against challengers Andrew Medlin of Louisiana and Sarah Sinclair of Seattle. Sarah's sign-in today features a ball of yarn; additionally, she's wearing a puzzle-patterned dress. A number of fans from the puzzle community think that Sarah has a very strong chance of doing well on the show—I do want to remind everyone, though, that there are no guarantees on the Alex Trebek Stage.
For those fans wondering about the taping of Celebrity Jeopardy! this season, the first two tape days have been scheduled: November 8 and 9. I have one theory about this, as it looks like 6 episodes are being taped next weekend, and some associated thoughts: make sure to tune in this week to Jeopartalk on Sunday at 6:00 PM Eastern.
Also, if you're a friend of mine or a contestant, the invitation is always open to appear on a Jeopartalk recording with me. Friends or contestants can contact me in any method you have for me; if you need an email address you can find it in the About section.
I don't normally comment on "the other side of the aisle"—Wheel of Fortune—but I think I want to this morning. A number of fans noticed this back in September when it happened (in fact, I saw this as well) and it has made its way onto Reddit at this point; one of last night's contestants, Ameenah Montgomery, violated her contestant agreement nearly immediately after taping, stating that she won $6,000 and a trip on the show. A number of these fans believe that Ameenah should lose her winnings for her error, and I do tend to agree with those fans. In fact, if I were Sony, I would feel the need to impose such a penalty as a deterrent against others doing the same thing in the future.

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2026 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
The poem "Teddy Bear" is best known today for being the first appearance in print of A.A. Milne's famous character Winnie-The-Pooh; the poem was also later republished in Milne's poetry collection When We Were Very Young.
This should be a relatively straightforward path towards the Winnie-The-Pooh books and author Milne; especially for those who remember that Punch is a famous British magazine.
