Today's Jeopardy! contestants:
Kim enters today's game as a 1-day champion with winnings of $28,401.
Andy's Pregame Thoughts:
Kim Kalnoki of Sacramento—whose late grandmother was on the Art Fleming version—got Jeopardy! pride for her family with her win today. Eileen Goodwin and Richard Koo are your challengers—and I am about 100% certain that this is not the Richard Koo who very nearly became a member of the Clue Crew back in 2005 when Kelly Miyahara and Jon Cannon joined the team.

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2026 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
Two decades before he became the fourth President of the United States, James Madison was dissatisfied with the weak federal government under the Articles of Confederation. Prior to the Constitutional Convention, Madison largely wrote what became known as the Virginia Plan; the plan set the overall tone of the debates and many of its items are cornerstones of the American government—chiefly, three branches (legislative, judicial, and executive) and a bicameral (House of Representatives and Senate) legislature. Madison arrived at the convention in Philadelphia 11 days in advance in order to get work done.
In what should come as no surprise, when I looked this up out of curiosity on Google this morning, their AI summary gave an incorrect answer here—it said George Washington, who did not arrive until 10 days after Madison did, according to the American Battlefield Trust.
