Warning: This page contains spoilers for the August 26, 2026, first game of Jeopardy! Masters — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. As this game is being aired earlier in Canada, this page will be updated once this game finishes airing on CTV Halifax (at about 7:30 PM Atlantic / 6:30 PM Eastern).

This game's Jeopardy! Masters contestants:

Juveria enters this game with a 9-12 career win-loss record and 0 points thus far in the tournament. Andrew enters this game with a 18-17 career win-loss record and 0 points thus far in the tournament. Long enters this game with a 5-5 career win-loss record and 1 point thus far in the tournament.

Juveria Zaheer, a psychiatrist from Whitby, Ontario, Canada
Andrew He, a stay-at-home dad from Concord, California
Long Nguyen, a retired engineer from Las Vegas, Nevada

Andy's Pre-Game Thoughts:

Day 2 of Jeopardy! Masters begins with a matchup between Long Nguyen, Andrew He, and Juveria Zaheer, with Long getting the leftmost lectern (from our view) thanks to his second-place finish against Paolo Pasco and Andrew on Match Day 1 yesterday.

Andrew He's mid-game interview with Ken Jennings, as Long Nguyen looks on.

I think all three of these players might need to make some adjustments in order to take victory in this one; I certainly thought that Andrew's 7 incorrect responses were excessive, while both Long (34%) and Juveria (41%) struggled on the signaling device (though in Juveria's defense, I think Victoria Groce has SSS-tier timing on the signaling device at this point.) Meanwhile, the Unified Prediction Model thinks this one could go any way; here are everyone's chances of victory:
Long: 31.0% to win, 33.9% to finish second;
Andrew: 34.6% to win, 32.8% to finish second;
Juveria: 34.4% to win, 33.3% to finish second.

Finally, on a scheduling note for the Canadians: While tonight's episode airs as normal at 8:00 (7:00 Central) on ABC, tonight's game is airing at 7 PM local time in a number of Canadian markets this evening, which means that tonight's results will be posted once the game has finished airing on CTV Halifax, which is 7:30 PM Atlantic time (6:30 PM Eastern).

Game Recap & Tonight's Game Stats:

Looking to find out who won Jeopardy! Masters today? Here's the Wednesday, August 26, 2026 Jeopardy! Masters (game 1) by the numbers, along with a recap:

Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: Over My Dead Body; Planes, Trains & Electromobiles; Recent Country Music; What's The Difference?; Let's Make Like A Tree & Branch; "Black" & "White")

Long found the Daily Double and used it to help get out of the hole after a slow start; however, Juveria led through 30 on the strength of 9 correct responses. On the opening board, Juveria got 3 in trees, Andrew got 3 in "Black" & "White", and Long got 3 in What's The Difference?

Statistics after the Jeopardy round:

Juveria 9 correct 0 incorrect
Andrew 7 correct 1 incorrect
Long 7 correct 4 incorrect

Scores after the Jeopardy! Round:

Juveria 4,400
Andrew 3,400
Long 400

Today's interviews:

Juveria was a big fan of Andrew He in the 2022 ToC.
Andrew gets recognized by a lot of people, but gets mistaken for Jamie Ding.
Long has a database of knowledge that he's been keeping since high school.

Double Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: You Studied Your Capitals, Right?; Triple Rhyme Time; Breaking News; This Ain't Shakespeare; Sculpture; Not So Black & White)

Juveria showed that while this will be her last Masters, she still has a lot of game left; she picked up a dozen correct responses, and her only incorrect response was on DD3. A Coryat score of north of $20,000 in this one let her cruise to a runaway with a handful of clues left. On the second board, Juveria got 3 correct in world capitals, while Andrew got 3 in Not So Black & White. (Combined with the category he got 3 in on the opening board, I think that means Andrew knows everything.)

Statistics after Double Jeopardy:

Juveria 21 correct 1 incorrect
Andrew 12 correct 2 incorrect
Long 12 correct 5 incorrect

Scores going into Final:

Juveria 20,200
Andrew 7,000
Long 4,000

Final Jeopardy category: Leaders

Final Jeopardy! clue: In a eulogy, his successor Ingvar Carlsson said, "we stand united in anger & grief" & he "made the world the concern…of us all"

Correct response: Who is Olof Palme?

Final Jeopardy was a Triple Stumper, so that means 3 points to Juveria and 1 to Andrew.

Tonight's results:

Long 4,000 - $3,001 = $999 (Who is Gustavus Adolphus?)
Andrew 7,000 - $1,001 = $5,999 (Who is Hammerskjold?)
Juveria 20,200 - $0 = $20,200 (Who is Hammarskold?) (Winner)
