Warning: This page contains spoilers for the August 27, 2026, first game of Jeopardy! Masters — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. It will be updated alongside the Eastern Time airing of the show, beginning at about 8:00 PM Eastern.

This game's Jeopardy! Masters contestants:

Long Nguyen, a retired engineer from Las Vegas, Nevada
Andrew He, a stay-at-home dad from Concord, California
Victoria Groce, an author and speaker from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Long enters this game with a 5-6 career win-loss record and 1 point thus far in the tournament. Andrew enters this game with a 18-18 career win-loss record and 1 point thus far in the tournament. Victoria enters this game with a 20-8 career win-loss record and 3 points thus far in the tournament.

Andy's Pregame Thoughts:

Ken Jennings does the mid-game interview with Long Nguyen.

I know that Victoria Groce thought in the post-game interview from yesterday's game that her bet on the final Daily Double may have been too much, but I'm not sure I agree with her assessment. First of all, even if you hold everything else constant and given Victoria a correct response on that last Daily Double, her score entering Final Jeopardy would have been Triple Stumper-proof, so a correct response on the Daily Double would have given her the 3 points. But, even at this point, it's moved Victoria to the first game of the evening, where she's been paired against the 5th and 6th-placed players in the competition in Andrew He and Long Nguyen. Andrew and Long have both struggled thus far, and having to play against Victoria likely won't help them find buzzer timing. But if they do, and manage to pull off an upset tonight, then things in Jeopardy! Masters will get incredibly interesting.

As always, here's what the Unified Prediction Model thinks about this one:
Victoria: 41.3% chance of winning, 31.5% chance of finishing second;
Andrew: 31.4% chance of winning, 34.0% chance of finishing second;
Long: 27.3% chance of winning, 34.5% chance of finishing second.

In terms of scheduling tonight, things go back to being 8:00 (7:00 Central) for most places on both sides of the border this evening. Remember, the games air on ABC in the United States and on CTV in Canada. That being said, NFL preseason coverage in Boston, Cleveland, Syracuse, Watertown, NY, Erie, PA, Reno, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Alaska, and Monterey, CA are causing tonight's game to be aired later. Check local listings in those areas!
