Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category State Songs) for Wednesday, November 27, 2024 (Season 41, Game 58):

Its 15 official state songs include 2 that mention moonshine & 3 played in 3/4 time

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Julia Schan, a stay at home mom from Pleasanton, California

Julia Schan on Jeopardy!

Drew Wheeler, a high school social studies teacher from Athens, Georgia

Drew Wheeler on Jeopardy!

Kevin Laskowski, an Episcopal priest from Falls Church, Virginia (2-day total: $39,400)

Kevin Laskowski on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Kevin Laskowski will be making a postseason return to Jeopardy. The only question is what level of the postseason he’ll be returning to. A victory today will ensure that he qualifies for the Tournament of Champions. However, Drew Wheeler of Athens, Georgia and Julia Schan of Pleasanton, California will want to stop him.

Another reminder that Matt Carberry has done his usual excellent job of detailing the schedule changes nationwide to Thursday’s and Friday’s episodes. If you’re concerned about when the show will air for you tomorrow and Friday, make sure to check out his Google sheet!

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2024 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

Tennessee has many state songs, including “Tennessee Waltz”, “A Tennessee Bicentennial Rap: 1796–1996”,and most famously, “Rocky Top”. However, as of 2024, the state now has 15 state songs.

While the Internet only got around to reporting the addition of Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” as Tennessee’s 15th state song yesterday—this one as the official state holiday song of Tennessee—the law designating it as such was signed by Governor Bill Lee on April 16 of this year.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • Having to remember exact quotes from the KJV is probably too difficult for the show in 2024, especially considering that a literal Episcopal priest chose to “stay clam” and not risk getting the exact quotation incorrect.
  • Today’s box score will be linked to when posted by the show.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

(Scores: Julia $8,600 Kevin $6,800 Drew $6,300)

Kevin: You can’t both cover Drew and win a Triple Stumper. Either go all in to force Julia to cover (at the very least, at least $5,801), or $2,201, covering Drew’s small range but still potentially winning on a Triple Stumper. (Actual bet: $6,799)

Drew: Because Kevin is in Stratton’s Dilemma, you have some options here. If you think Kevin will bet big, bet between $2,301 and $2,699. If you think Kevin will bet small, go all in. (Actual bet: $2,400)

Julia: Standard cover bet over Kevin is $5,001. (Actual bet: $5,001)
