Happy JeoparDAY! Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Americans in Paris) for Wednesday, March 30, 2022 (Season 38, Game 143):
In 2021 she became the sixth woman & the first Black woman to be inducted into the Panthéon in Paris
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s contestants:
Joey Lavarias, a bassoonist & graduate student from Greensboro, North Carolina
Candace Orsetti, a writer & editor from Annapolis, Maryland
Jackie Kelly, a pension calculation developer from Cary, North Carolina (3-day total: $91,101)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: On this JeoparDAY!, Jackie Kelly returns as a 3-day champion after a comprehensive performance. Candace Orsetti and Joey Lavarias are going to attempt to stop her, but if Jackie has the signalling device figured out (as happened yesterday), we might be in for a long run.
As part of the JeoparDAY! festivities, the show will be airing the unaired show pilot of the Art Fleming version, from 1964, on its YouTube channel at 8:00 PM Eastern / 5:00 PM Pacific.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Correct response: Who is Josephine Baker?
More information about Final Jeopardy: (The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2022 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
Josephine Baker was one of the most celebrated performers at the Folies Bergère cabaret in Paris in the 1920s, and was the most successful American entertainer working in France during her time. After World War II her stardom remained; she was also noted in the United States for refusing to play for segregated audiences; her insistence on this helped to integrate live shows in Las Vegas. Due to her heroism in the French Resistance during World War II, she received full French military honors at her 1975 funeral, and French President Emmanuel Macron announced in 2021 that she would be honored at the Panthéon in November. While her body remains in Monaco, a symbolic casket containing soil from the locations where Baker lived would be interred in a crypt at the Panthéon.

Game Recap:
Jeopardy! Round categories: Let’s Put On a Show; Multi-Sport Athletes; Good Line, Famous Name!; The Name in the Middle; Join the Crowd; Gimme Some Space
Jackie’s utter dominance of the bottom of the board continued, with the champion picking up five $1,000 clues to jump out to a big lead at the first break. Coming out of the break, Jackie continued her strong play, and held an incredibly commanding lead, thanks to a hesitant, but still successful, True Daily Double!
Double Jeopardy! Round categories: A Dish of Schubert; International Geographic; Magical Mystery Tour; Fa”sh”ion; Historical Nonfiction; Contractions
Candace struggled to open the second round, giving incorrect responses on the first three clues. Meanwhile, Joey went 4/5 in the Schubert category. It was Candace, though, who found the first Daily Double of the round. Unfortunately for her, she fell to $0. It was then Joey who found the final Daily Double on clue #22—but only bet $2,000 of his $11,000. The money left on the table could have come in handy for him, as the clues following saw Jackie pick up 6 of the final 8 clues to cement a runaway going into Final—Jackie having $23,000 to Joey’s $11,000 and Candace’s $4,000.
Final Jeopardy! saw Jackie be the only player to get the clue correct, which means her 4th victory for her! She’ll go for #5 tomorrow!
