Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category British Places) for Wednesday, June 5, 2024 (Season 40, Game 193):
This city owes much of its early history to a temple dedicated to Sulis Minerva & a “sacred spring” found there
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Allee Mead, a writer from Grand Forks, North Dakota
Kyle Sorlie Titlow, a geographer from Washington, D.C.
Adriana Harmeyer, an archivist from West Lafayette, Indiana (5-day total: $116,200)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
We have our third five-time champ of Season 40—and all of them thus far have been women with first names beginning with the letter A. With her win yesterday, Adriana Harmeyer joins Alison Betts and Amy Hummel as having qualified for the 32nd Tournament of Champions in early 2025. However, neither Alison nor Amy got to six victories. Will Adriana get victory number six today? Our challengers today are D.C.’s Kyle Sorlie Titlow and North Dakota’s Allee Mead.

Correct response: What is Bath?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2024 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
Bath, located in Somerset in South West England, was known as Aquae Sulis; Sulis was a Celtic goddess associated with Minerva. A temple to Sulis Minerva was built and the natural hot springs in the area were utilized for the Roman baths.
The area is still a major British tourist attraction, though the old Roman baths were closed in 1978 after a swimmer died after being infected with a deadly pathogen from the water. Today, tourists can instead use the modern Thermae Bath Spa and a refurbished Cross Bath.

Jeopardy! Round:
(Categories: Feeling The Buzz; Signs Of The Zodiac; “Gate”keeping; North American Geography; Pop Music; The Real Red Tails)
Adriana started out very well in her quest for win #6; seven correct, including a $1,000 rebound on a “Know Your Canada” error by Kyle, meant she had a big lead after 15 clues. At the break, Adriana had $3,600 to Kyle’s $1,000 and Allee’s $400.
Statistics at the first break (15 clues):
Adriana 7 correct 0 incorrect

Today’s interviews:
Allee received a Sears typewriter—from Santa—for Christmas in second grade.
Kyle studied public transportation in Argentina.
Adriana would like to travel with some of her winnings.
Allee had a very strong second half of the round, picking up 8 correct—and the Daily Double—to pull within $400 of Adriana’s lead.

Double Jeopardy! Round:
(Categories: U.S. Rep. & Prez; Public Transportation; Alliterative Television Shows; Science Quiz; 21st Century Books; City Slang)
An interesting round strategically saw the Daily Doubles come out very late; Adriana got them both, splitting them with a pair of $2,000 wagers. From there, she was fortunate that Allee chose not to signal on any of the final three clues, letting them all fall for Triple Stumpers as she fell just one clue short of remaining in contention going into Final Jeopardy.
Statistics after Double Jeopardy:
Adriana 22 correct 2 incorrect
Allee 14 correct 1 incorrect
Kyle 11 correct 5 incorrect
Total number of unplayed clues this season: 18 (0 today).
Scores going into Final:
Adriana $19,400
Allee $9,400
Kyle $2,400
All three players got Final Jeopardy correct; Adriana is now a 6-day champion; she’ll play for win #7 tomorrow.
Tonight’s results:
Kyle $2,400 + $2,399 = $4,799 (What is Bath?)
Allee $9,400 + $0 = $9,400 (What is Bath?)
Adriana $19,400 + $500 = $19,900 (What is Bath?) (6-day total: $136,100)
