Haile Selassie was Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974, and traced his lineage to Emperor Menelik I, the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba from the Bible, as part of the House of Solomon. The dynasty ruled Ethiopia with rare interruption from 1270 until Haile Selassie was deposed in 1974. Selassie is also considered to be the Messiah by many members of the Rastafari movement.

The quality of the closed captioning used by Jeopardy! has decreased significantly over the past few years. Does the captioner even sanity-check? It’s getting so bad—”what is Euro” instead of “what is zero”, to give one example from today’s game—that I might even go so far as to say that it may even fall afoul of Canada’s regulations regarding the quality of closed captions. Jeopardy! needs to do better before its affiliates north of the border (and potentially even south of it) fall into legal trouble.
