Not only was Torchy Blane the inspiration for the character Lois Lane, famously Clark Kent (Superman)’s co-worker at the Daily Planet in the DC Comics series, the name Lois Lane comes from the name of the actress Lola Lane, who portrayed Blane in the 1938 film Torchy Blane in Panama.
