Happy Hallowe’en! Today is Quarterfinal #8 of the Champions Wildcard Diamonds bracket, and our returning players are Katie Hargrove, Hari Parameswaran, and Aaron Craig. You might recognize Hari from winning the Second Chance Competition in the opening week of Season 40.

After seeing how well Jilana Cotter played last week in her quarterfinal, I think that Hari has to be considered the favorite in this quarterfinal—presuming that Hari’s buzzer timing is like it was at the end of the Second Chance final. It seems there is a tiny advantage to playing more recently (though certainly, any evidence here would be anecdotal; I don’t know if there is any way of quantifying this).

Prince Archie of Sussex, the son of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was born on May 6, 2019 and is the first son of Harry and Meghan. Archie is currently sixth in the line of succession, but could be moved further down the line if William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales have a fourth child.

The other Archie referred to in the clue is the famed comics character Archie Andrews, created by John L. Goldwater and Bob Montana, who first appeared in Pep Comics 22 (December 1941). The character is probably best known recently as being one of the major characters in the CW TV series Riverdale, which recently concluded a 7-season run. KJ Apa portrayed Archie in this series.

I don’t necessarily think this one will be as straightforward as some of the Final Jeopardy clues we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks, but I could also see any result in this Final, from a Triple Stumper to a triple get.
