On September 23, 1913, Roland Garros made a flight in a Morane-Saulnier monoplane from Fréjus, France, landing nearly eight hours later in Bizerte, Tunisia. It was the first flight across the Mediterranean Sea. Garros died in 1918 after becoming a World War I fighter pilot; his plane was shot down by German forces.
It would not surprise me if a significant number of both home viewers and players reflexively guess the English Channel on this one without too much regard for the distance flown in the clue; flying over the English Channel from France to England would have been a much shorter attempt than flying over the Mediterranean.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- The promo that aired before the game strongly hinted that T.J. was going to win this game.
- I was not a fan of the bets that Denise and T.J. made in Final Jeopardy!; As T.J. could very easily have bet $1,401, Denise needed to bet at least $7,200. T.J. then let Denise off the hook for her own mistake by betting too much himself. The fact that trailing players often underbet from this position is a very good reason why leaders should not bet any more than they have to in Final Jeopardy!, even in crush positions.
