Correct response: What is a pulsar?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
First detected in December 1967 by Jocelyn Bell (now Jocelyn Bell Burnell) at Cambridge University, pulsars are a very dense ball of material that are created when a star runs out of fuel and collapses on itself. This pulsar was flickering repeatedly every 1.3 seconds and did not match the already-discovered quasar. Because they could not rule out that the signal was coming from an intelligent alien species, the pulsar was named LGM-1. It wasn’t until Bell discovered a second pulsar elsewhere in the universe that the discovery was announced, as Cambridge’s researchers were afraid that possible alien life would create unnecessary publicity and chaos.
In another case of men taking credit for a woman’s scientific work, only Bell’s advisors, Antony Hewish and Martin Ryle, received the 1974 Nobel Prize for the discovery.

Back in 2016, I wrote an article entitled Why Terry McElhennon is Smarter Than You” after Terry received threatening communications after confusing Alabama and Auburn. I would just like to say: This holds in 2020. Making mistakes doesn’t make you stupid, they make you human. If you think you’re smarter than Sameer, you can take the Jeopardy! Anytime Test right now. And also remember: true Jeopardy! fans don’t harass contestants; the fact that people harass contestants says such more about the harasser than it does about the contestant.
