Hispaniola, the second-largest island by area in the Caribbean (after Cuba) is home to two countries: Haiti in the west (official languages French and Haitian Creole) and the Dominican Republic in the east. (official language Spanish). Which got me to thinking: does anyone remember the “Who was your first Black teacher?” that was circulating around Twitter in late May-early June 2020? Mine here at The Jeopardy! Fan would have been in middle school French—M. Georges; he was originally from Haiti and immigrated to Canada if I remember correctly. I liked him as a teacher.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- Being aware of the game situation as much as is possible is crucially important, especially in the endgame. The score through 29 clues of Double Jeopardy!: Kevin $16,400 Amy $8,400 Garrett $7,000. Kevin rang in on Clue 30 and was incorrect (which was a very good idea, as a correct answer from Kevin gives him a runaway). At this point, it was absolutely not worth Amy signaling under any circumstances. She then did and was incorrect, giving Kevin a runaway. A Hail Mary guess from Garrett was his only hope at this point and he let the clue fall for a Triple Stumper, which cemented Kevin’s runaway. That became crucial when Kevin did not get Final Jeopardy! correct.
