Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: We’re returning to slightly more normal times on Jeopardy, as Nancy departed as a 1-day champion. Returning to normal always takes some getting used to, as you become used to seeing the dominance that we saw with Matt Amodio and Jonathan Fisher, but that’s not usually how things go. One thing that I would like to say, though, as the armchair contestants start coming in with their hot strategy takes on Twitter: Contestants play the game that they feel gives them the best chance of winning. Some contestants happen to be more comfortable taking categories top to bottom, as they feel they would play the game much worse hopping around the board. This doesn’t make these contestants worthy of your Internet scorn; in fact, they’re making for a better viewing experience for the home viewer, as there won’t be as many Triple Stumpers to slow down play.

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to. When wearing a mask, ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

More information about Final Jeopardy: (The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2021 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

Sydney, Australia can be found at 33.87°S; Santiago, Chile can be found at 33.45°S; the two cities are separated by many thousand miles of ocean. The only issue I can potentially foresee a contestant having with this clue is being hung up on how far 7,000 miles is (and potentially going for Wellington, New Zealand instead.)
