Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Religious Words) for Thursday, November 26, 2020 (Season 37, Game 54):
This sacred syllable is sometimes said to be composed of sounds representing Vishnu, Shiva & Brahma
(correct response beneath the contestants)
We may have lost Alex, but the show must go on. Alex wouldn’t want it any other way. Please, let’s remember him over the next few weeks of banked episodes, and then afford him the same respect to his successors that we afforded Alex when he replaced Art Fleming in 1984.
Today’s contestants:
Aaron Fernandez, a freelance editor originally from Santa Cruz, California
Zack Jones, a law student from Fountain Valley, California
Ryan Hemmel, a legal technology professional from Los Angeles, California (1-day total: $20,001)
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to abide by physical distancing guidelines and when you are not able to do so, properly wear a mask. Ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Considered the most sacred mantra in many forms of Buddhism, “om” is a contraction of a-u-m, which represents many important triads: the three worlds (the earth, atmosphere, and heaven) and three sacred Vedic scriptures (Rigveda, Yajurveda, and Samaveda) are two examples. It is also used at the beginning and end of Hindu prayers, chants, and meditation.
