In the 1960s, the French university system was in trouble—the system had failed to account for the post-World War II baby boom, and conditions in French universities were considered poor. Students began protesting, and these protests came to a head in the spring of 1968 in Paris. By May, the protests had turned nationwide and were only quelled by the dissolution of Parliament. As a result, by 1970 the French government restructured the University of Paris into 13 different institutions.

Knowledge of France’s protests in 1968 will certainly help in getting this Final correct, though Czechoslovakia’s 1968 protests, which might lead players to Prague, is a big red herring today.
