Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category The Oscars) for Thursday, February 11, 2021 (Season 37, Game 99):
The first time an individual won 4 awards at a single ceremony was in 1954, when his wins included Best 2-Reel Short Subject
(correct response beneath the contestants)
In case you missed it: Jeopardy! announced four more guest hosts this week. Three of those picks are a good idea. The fourth is a nearly unanimously unpopular pick with fans and former contestants alike.
Today’s contestants:
Stan Park, a virtual events producer from Oakland, California
Kate Willcox, an attorney originally from Miamisburg, Ohio
John Focht, a software team lead originally from El Paso, Texas (3-day total: $83,800)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: John bounced back yesterday a little bit with a second runaway game in three nights in picking up Win #3. His game has worked for him, but he may need to be more consistent at finding (and taking advantage of) Daily Doubles if he wants to string together a very long run. Today’s game is crucial for John to win if he wants to find himself with any hope of qualifying for the 30th Tournament of Champions.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to abide by physical distancing guidelines and when you are not able to do so, properly wear a mask. Ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Correct response: Who is Walt Disney?
More information about Final Jeopardy: (The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2021 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
At the 26th Academy Awards, held in 1954 for films of 1953, Walt Disney took home four Oscars in the following categories: Best Documentary Feature (The Living Desert), Best Documentary Short Subject (The Alaskan Eskimo), Best Short Subject – Cartoons (Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom), and Best Live Action Short Subject, Two-Reel (Bear Country).
I’d like to give kudos to Jeopardy’s writers here on this one. They’ve had issues in the past when it comes to Oscars and years; this is not one of those cases. The clue makes very clear that this took place in the ceremony held in 1954. (Remember, when it comes to the Oscars, films of 1953 are honored in 1954). In my opinion, any confusion here is the fault of the viewer and not the show; comments tonight that do not demonstrate that one has read this section will not be approved.
