Good morning! Today is Thursday, April 22, 2021 (Season 37, Game 149). It’s Day 4 of Anderson Cooper’s hosting tenure; thus far, $64,000 has been raised for the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Haiti. Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Continental Geography):
Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea & Somalia make up this region named for its resemblance to a part of a native animal
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s contestants:
Kelly Donohue, a bank examiner from Winthrop, Massachusetts
Monica St. Dennis, a librarian from Alexandria, Virginia
Mike Nelson, an actor originally from Chesterton, Indiana (3-day total: $55,000)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Mike played a strong game yesterday on a more difficult board than usual; Mike’s opponents definitely hit some of the traps that were in that board. Thus, he survives to play another day. Mike’s already into double digits in incorrect responses, though — keeping that number down is a good way to keep his win streak going.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to. When wearing a mask, ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Correct response: What is the Horn of Africa?
More information about Final Jeopardy: (The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2021 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
It is undoubtable that the Horn of Africa, on the eastern tip of the continent, is shaped like a rhinoceros horn.
One thing that I noticed, though, when putting this recap together: The J!6 clue today in SECRETS OF THE WHALES: “Because of unique, hornlike tusks protruding from their heads, these whales are called ‘The Unicorns of the Sea'” (What are narwhals?). At least to me, I find it hard to believe that the “prepared 6th clue in a category” would also be about horns in a fully prepared board that contains this Final Jeopardy! clue. It is obvious, at least to me, that these J!6 clues are not the “actual 6th clue”. This isn’t the first time where the J!6 clue feels implausible at best, and I find that disappointing.
