Tell es-Safi is generally considered to be the ancient Philistine city of Gath, the home town of Goliath and one of the five main Philistine cities. The general area has been inhabited since the 5th century BCE.
Today, the site is an Israeli national park.
Since Alex Trebek’s diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, many community members have been raising money. The Jeopardy! Fan Online Store is as well! Andy’s Thoughts:
- I just have a sinking feeling that games will be tougher this season; the 11 Triple Stumpers and relatively difficult Final Jeopardy (Gath has never been a correct response according to J! Archive, though it has come up in clues) might be evidence of this. I’ll keep an eye on this as things progress this season.
- Jason looked like he didn’t even have a break, though, with his highest Coryat score of his run so far.
