Helen Skelton is a British actress and television host, known in the UK for co-hosting the children’s show Blue Peter and hosting BBC’s swimming coverage.
In addition to her television work, she has become known for undertaking grueling physical challenges, including completing the Namibian ultra-marathon (78 miles) in 23 hours and 45 minutes. In 2010, she kayaked the entire length of the Amazon River (2,010 miles), spending the entire month of February in Brazil (the journey began in Nauta, Peru on January 20) to raise money for Sport Relief. The journey earned her two Guinness World Records (longest solo journey by kayak, and longest distance in a kayak in 24 hours by a woman).
