Correct response: Who is John Steinbeck?

More information about Final Jeopardy:

That quote comes from Chapter 1 of John Steinbeck’s work East of Eden, in which he describes the Salinas Valley: “Five or six wet and wonderful years”, “six or seven pretty good years”, and then the dry years. “It never failed that during the dry years that people forgot about the rich years, and during the wet years they lost all memory of the dry years”. The novel was originally for the author’s young sons; Steinbeck wanted to describe the Salinas Valley in detail for them. There are Biblical themes intertwined throughout the work; the title itself comes from Genesis 4:16: “And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden”.

Since Alex Trebek’s diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, many community members have been raising money. The Jeopardy! Fan Online Store is as well!
