Election Day and Thanksgiving are two of the days where the show sees the most number of pre-emptions across the United States. There are exactly 11 weekdays between Election Day and Thanksgiving this year. Thus, in order to fit the tournament between the two holidays, it needs to start on the Wednesday.

France’s Napoleon Bonaparte was said to have had over 150 horses that he rode, including different ones that he had on his exiles in Elba and Saint Helena. His attempt at an invasion of Russia in 1812 did not go well, especially as winter set in, Napoleon was forced to retreat, and the failed Russian campaign became a turning point in the Napoleonic Wars.
Over a century later, Hitler had the same issues when it came to the Russian winter during World War II.
