Meanwhile, we are 8 days from the start of the primetime Jeopardy! National College Championship on ABC. There is so much conflicting information on the Internet about this tournament, and still no official format announcement. ABC is dropping the ball pretty badly when it comes to their promotional efforts here, and I find that incredibly disappointing.

In 1912, author Gertrude Stein sent a manuscript to London publisher Alfred C. Fifield (the work would be published in 1925 as The Making of Americans: Being a History of a Family’s Progress.) It had deliberately been written using significant repetition in the vocabulary, and the publisher chose to mimic that in its rejection letter.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- Mayim Bialik returned to hosting the show today. I’m glad she remembered to remind Riley that she could bet up to $1,000 (even though she didn’t heed the advice); however, it still feels to me that Ken is a significantly better quiz moderator than Mayim is. Pausing on Auburn (waiting for Auburn University) feels like something that a inexperienced quiz moderator would do, and really only serves to delay the proceedings.
- That being said, I would not blame Mayim for the two unplayed clues. To me, that’s on the fact that there were 14 incorrect responses and 11 Triple Stumpers.
