Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: After being able to resume his run on Thursday, Zach Newkirk has locked down his spot in the 30th Tournament of Champions with his 6th win on Friday. It’s the start of a new week, though. Will Zach be able to keep the streak going? His performances have had slightly more deviation than previous champion Brian Chang; however, a 6-day champion being announced to the new players is inherently intimidating to newcomers. If Zach plays like last week, though, I would expect to see his streak continue a few more games.

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to abide by physical distancing guidelines and when you are not able to do so, properly wear a mask. Ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Entropy, a term coined in the mid-1860s by Rudolf Clausius, is a term used to measure the amount of energy in a system that is unavailable to do useful work, as energy can decay. The second law of thermodynamics establishes the concept of entropy and explains why a perpetual motion machine is impossible; entropy will inevitably decay the energy source.

Andy’s Thoughts:

• As someone who has streamed both Pokémon and Animal Crossing on Twitch, I was sad to see both of those to fall as Triple Stumpers.
• By not betting the full amount on the first Daily Double, Steve put himself in a much worse position going into Final Jeopardy; $6,600 to $9,700 is a much better position than $6,000 to $9,700 as it turns the game into a two-thirds situation instead of a crush.
