Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Movies & Psychology) for Friday, November 22, 2024 (Season 41, Game 55):
In this film Paula Alquist tells Gregory Anton, “Have you gone mad, my husband? Or is it I who am mad?”
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Adam Hersh, an attorney from Brooklyn, New York
Courtney Schooley, a preschool teacher from Tulsa, Oklahoma
Mehal Shah, a software engineer from Seattle, Washington (2-day total: $46,062)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
After picking up over $20,000 in a four-clue span in yesterday’s game, Mehal Shah comes into today’s game looking to pick up a third victory. That third victory will put him into the Tournament of Champions, while a loss will mean that Mehal’s postseason journey will continue in Champions Wildcard. Courtney Schooley of Tulsa and Adam Hersh of Brooklyn are your challengers.

Correct response: What is Gaslight?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2024 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
Gaslight is a 1944 film, starring Ingrid Bergman as Paula and Charles Boyer as Gregory, where Gregory manipulates Paula into believing that she is descending into insanity—with the name of the film coming from the fact that Paula notices that the gas lighting is dimming for no apparent reason when Gregory isn’t home. The film’s title was later used to describe emotional manipulation that causes others to question their own perception of reality—one example of this behavior might be to tell another person that their easily provable observation of past events is “fiction.”
Having certainly been the victim of attempted gaslighting in the recent past, I personally found this Final Jeopardy clue to be very straightforward. It’ll be interesting to see how others in the community fare on this clue.
