More information about Final Jeopardy:
Barlow was the U.S. Minister to France from 1811 until his 1812 death; working during the time of the five-foot-four James Madison and five-foot-six Napoleon (though he would have have been listed as five-foot-two according to the longer French foot. No wonder they were championing the metric system!)
Though it is difficult to find a source for his height, there are sources that describe the man as “tall and bony”.
