Correct response: Who is Isabel Allende?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
Isabel Allende is a Chilean author; her father’s first cousin was Salvador Allende, who was overthrown by Augusto Pinochet in 1973. Isabel found herself in exile in Venezuela following the coup, where she wrote her first major novel, The House of the Spirits. Her 2003 memoir was Invented Country, which noted that the September 11 attacks on the United States came on the 28th anniversary of the Chilean coup.
Also, I would preface this by saying that this is completely coincidental, and I’m probably the only person who’s going to notice this (especially as the Venn diagram of Nintendo fans and Jeopardy! fans is relatively small), but it’s an amusing coincidence that the subject of Final Jeopardy! on the release date of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is named Isabel (Isabelle is one of the most prominent characters in the Animal Crossing video game franchise).

Andy’s Thoughts:
In an interview that she did before her shows aired, Michonne said “There’s all kinds of strategy theory out there about wagering and clue choice methodology, and I don’t bother with any of it.” To her credit, Final Jeopardy! broke in her favor today (when it wouldn’t have had she played a standard strategy). And that’s what keeps this game interesting and exciting. This game would be a lot more boring if everybody played exactly the same way.
