Today is the final day of Second Chance competition this season; it concludes with Day 2 of the Week 2 final. Enzo Cunanan has a big lead over both Drew Goins and Sam Cameron, with both Drew and Sam giving crucial incorrect responses during Game 1 of the final. However, Enzo’s lead isn’t insurmountable—because anything earned during the main game today can be doubled in Final Jeopardy, Enzo’s “effective lead” over Drew is only half of the $16,800 he actually leads by—$8,400—while Enzo has a $9,200 effective lead over Sam. (I should also note that I very much enjoyed it every time Buzzy Cohen would make reference to this during tournament play last season in Inside Jeopardy.)

Next week sees the start of Champions Wildcard; I hope to be able to publish a preview over the weekend, but that would be contingent on the show releasing quarterfinal pairings before Monday morning.
