More information about Final Jeopardy:
The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson’s residence in Tennessee, was originally called “Rural Retreat” when it was purchased from the Hays family in 1804 for $3,400. It was renamed to The Hermitage, quickly upgraded, and became a cotton plantation which became as large as 1,000 acres.
Merriam-Webster gives one of the definitions of “hermitage” as “a secluded residence or private retreat”.
