The poem, titled “All in the golden afternoon…”, was a prefatory poem to Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It recalls the afternoon where Carroll met Alice Liddell (“Secunda” in the poem) and her two sisters Lorina and Edith.
