With a screenplay by Francis Ford Coppola and Edmund H. North and directed by Franklin J. Schaffner, Patton is a 1970 biopic about American World War II general George S. Patton, with George C. Scott in the title role. The film won 7 Oscars, including Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, and Best Actor for Scott, who famously refused the honor, citing a dislike of the Oscar voting process and acting “competitions”. The “Ten-hut, be seated” line comes from the film’s opening monologue about how “Americans love a winner” and was originally delivered to the United States Third Army.
Since Alex Trebek’s diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, many community members have been raising money. The Jeopardy! Fan Online Store is as well! All proceeds from any “Keep The Faith And We’ll Win” shirt sold will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. To date, over $440 has been raised.)
