Tommy Lee Jones played US Marshal Samuel Girard in the 1993 film The Fugitive alongside Harrison Ford’s Dr. Richard Kimble.
It was based in the TV series which ran from 1963 to 1967, in which David Janssen played Kimble and Barry Morse portrayed Girard. Kimble had been wrongfully convicted of the first-degree murder of his wife, but escapes from death row and becomes a fugitive (the circumstances differ between TV series and film).
