Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
2-day champion Jamie Ding dominated the proceedings in yesterday’s game, putting up a $32,000 Coryat score (one of the highest ever) but lost a lot of money on an incorrect Final Jeopardy. It will be interesting to see if losing $30,000 has any effect on his gameplay today; certainly, challengers Carman Nareau and Aidan O’Connell hope that it does.
One thing that I think Jamie needs to do, though, is make sure he finds the Daily Doubles. His buzzer seems to be on fire at the ends of rounds, but finding timing earlier in rounds will be crucial to denying his opponents the extra chances at finding the Daily Doubles.

More Information About Final Jeopardy!:
Deriving from the word “anastasis”, the name Anastasia was given to the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, who was killed by the Bolsheviks in July 1918. However, she became known posthumously due to the efforts of impostor Anna Anderson, who lived until 1984 and was not conclusively determined to be an impostor until DNA testing was done in the 1990s. Anastasia’s life was also the basis of the 1997 historical fantasy film of the same name, that was nominated for several Oscars.
Anastasia has been a topic that the writers have gone back to a few times over the years; I feel as though this is going to be easier for longer-term fans, but we shall see.
