Yesterday, John Schultz won his third game (and appeared in our Hangout)! Let’s see what he does today.

Abbie Micucci

John Schultz

Jeremy Reff

I thought Abbie was unfairly negged on this first clue in Name That Verb, since her answer was appropriate and no explanation of the category was given: “To put a grade on Mr. Zuckerberg’s work.” It was a triple-stumper.
I got this triple-stumper in Minnesota: “This colorful vegetable canning company was founded in 1903 in Le Sueur.” This was the last clue before the first break.
John 3600 (7 right and one wrong)
Jeremy 1400 (4 right and one wrong)
Abbie 400 (One right and one wrong)
What a cool story of how Jeremy met his wife.
John found the Daily Double of the round in A Real Mystery.
John 5800 (4 right and one wrong)
Jeremy 600 (2 right and 2 wrong)
Abbie 400
John wagered 4200 on this clue: “The murder in this mystery takes place aboard the Karnak, a small river steamboat.” John was right! Trebek then gave the less-than-a-minute warning, and some clues wound up being left on the board. At the end of the round:
John 10000
Jeremy 600
Abbie 1000 (One right)
The first clue of Double Jeopardy was the Daily Double, in Know Your Knot! So it was Jeremy’s. He wagered 2000 on this clue: “The name of this knot used to shorten a rope without cutting it calls to mind a certain animal’s leg.” Jeremy didn’t look like he was gonna get it, but he did! A couple of clues later, I got this triple-stumper in the same category just from the TOM: “This knot is ‘relatively’ easy to make, as it’s often the result of an improperly tied square knot.”
Jeremy found the next Daily Double too, in Brr, Baby, Brr.
John 8000 (2 right and 3 wrong)
Jeremy 3000 (6 right and 4 wrong)
Abbie 3000 (2 right)
Jeremy wagered it all on this clue: “This New England state’s record low of -50 F was recorded in Aroostook County on January 16, 2009.” He and I guessed right.
Check out these scores at the end of the round:
John 16000 (6 right)
Jeremy 5200 (One wrong)
Abbie 3000
The Final Jeopardy category is Broadway Musicals. This is the clue: “‘Iowa Stubborn’ was the second song heard in this show when it opened on Broadway in 1957.” Abbie and I were right. I just saw that this summer! She added 3000. Jeremy was wrong, and he lost 5199. John was wrong! He lost 5000.
This time it’s a pleasure to update the ToC list.
