The Washington Monument was 555 feet tall, while the Eiffel Tower was 986. The Empire State Building, Ostankino Tower in Moscow, CN Tower in Toronto have also held the title of “tallest freestanding structure”, and the title is currently held by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai at 2,722 feet.
