Forster’s 1908 novel A Room with a View opens and closes at Florence’s “Pension Bertolini” hotel; Lucy Honeychurch’s travel group was promised a room with a view of the Arno River, instead, they received a room with a view only of a courtyard. Slightly more notably in Jeopardy! lore, Bob Harris speaks at length in Prisoner of Trebekistan of how to keep those Forster works separate. (Apropos of nothing: I lent my copy of “Trebekistan” out to someone many years ago and I have no veritable idea who has it.)
