The beer is named HefeWheaties.
Wheaties is wheat cereal. Hefeweizen is wheat beer. Now, General Mills has done the inevitable and created a Wheaties-branded Hefeweizen in partnership with Minneapolis craft breweryFulton.“We were intrigued from the get-go on this idea for many reasons, including that we’re both Minneapolis companies, and that the beer and the cereal both started from the same place in terms of raw ingredients and the same city,” Fulton president and co-founder Ryan Petz says in thisGeneral Mills blog post.
I’m slightly disappointed that Jeopardy! didn’t see fit to name-check Fulton in their Final Jeopardy! clue tonight. I bet that had it been Budweiser, it would have been in the clue. The flowery wording of “been with us since the 1920s” could have been axed in favor of the name of the brewer. My first thought when I saw the clue was “what brewer?”
