Warning: This page may contain spoilers for the January 12, 2024 game of Jeopardy! UK, especially for those of you watching delayed or on-demand. This page will be updated during each commercial break as the show airs.
Today’s contestants:
Michael Hutchinson, a maths teacher from Reading
Rachel Munro, a business analyst from London
Dennis Wang, an actuary from Walthamstow, London (1-day total: £4,151)
Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:
Dennis Wang is your returning champion after his more-than-£4,000 victory on yesterday’s program; today’s challengers are Rachel Munro and Michael Hutchinson!
Because I’m sure someone else will point it out if I don’t—Michael was the captain of the University of Reading University Challenge squad who lost the 2021–22 final to Imperial College, London. I just have a sense that Michael has what it takes to maybe win a few games on this show. Variance is absolutely a thing, though—I could very well be wrong in my predictions!
Another reminder that I have started a Sunday mailbag column where I answer fan & viewer questions regarding the show. If you have a question, feel free to send it to mailbag@thejeopardyfan.com!

Dennis: Standard cover bet over Rachel is £476. (Actual bet: £2,474)

Michael: Standard cover bet over Dennis is £1,851. (Actual bet: £1,851)
More information about Final Jeopardy:
Owing to its high elevation, Quito, Ecuador has a very pleasant climate, with an average afternoon high temperature only at about 70ºF (21ºC). La Paz, the seat of government of Bolivia, is the only national capital with a higher elevation, about 800 meters higher than Quito. (This has actually caused problems for Bolivia at times in FIFA World Cup qualifying, as Bolivia’s elevation is high enough such that there aren’t enough stadia in the country at a low elevation.)
