Warning: This page contains spoilers for the May 28, 2025, first game of Jeopardy! Masters — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. It will be updated alongside the Eastern Time airing of the show, beginning at about 9:00 PM Eastern.
This game’s Jeopardy! Masters contestants:
Juveria Zaheer, a psychiatrist from Whitby, Ontario, Canada (9-7, 0 points)
Yogesh Raut, an educational blogger, podcast host & writer originally from Springfield, Illinois (14-13, 0 points)
Victoria Groce, a writer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (16-6, 0 points)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
With multiple sources (including Nora Groce and Yogesh Raut) stating over the last 24 hours that points do not carry over from the quarterfinals, we are back to all square with our four semifinalists: Victoria Groce, Yogesh Raut, Juveria Zaheer, and Isaac Hirsch. For those who don’t remember, the format will be the same as the first two Masters tournaments: all four 3-player combinations of our semifinalists will happen between tonight and next Tuesday. Things open with our 1, 2, and 3 seeds—Victoria, Yogesh, and Juveria—doing battle while Isaac sits out.
The Unified Prediction model does like Victoria’s chances to win this semifinal opener, giving her a 40.0% chance of victory, whereas Yogesh has a 33.9% chance and Juveria a 26.1% chance.
