Warning: This page contains spoilers for the May 14, 2025, first game of Jeopardy! Masters — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. It will be updated alongside the Eastern Time airing of the show, beginning at about 9:00 PM Eastern.
This game’s Jeopardy! Masters contestants:
Adriana Harmeyer, an archivist from West Lafayette, Indiana (17-7, 1 point)
Matt Amodio, a quantitative researcher from New York, New York (46-17, 1 point)
Victoria Groce, a writer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (12-6, 1 point)
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
The opening set of three games from Jeopardy! Masters have set up an intriguing pair of games in tonight’s episode. Things start off tonight with the three second-placed finishers from the opening games in Victoria Groce, Matt Amodio, and Adriana Harmeyer. The Unified Prediction Model definitely has Adriana as a significant underdog in this game. However, thanks to the single point from the first round, the top 2 players will advance from this game to the quarterfinals. In fact, the UPM says that Victoria has a 25% chance of finishing third, Matt a 33% chance, and Adriana a 42% chance. Because the top two players will advance, there is a definite chance of some more unorthodox betting, in order to ensure a top 2 finish in this game.
