Today’s Celebrity Jeopardy! contestants:
Andy Richter, a comedian from “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, playing for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
Ego Nwodim, a comedian from “Saturday Night Live”, playing for God’s Love We Deliver
Simu Liu, an actor from “Kim’s Convenience” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, playing for Stop AAPI Hate
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
Celebrity Jeopardy! has moved to prime time as the tournament leads off with Simu Liu, Ego Nwodim, and Andy Richter. Of the three, Andy Richter certainly has the best Jeopardy! pedigree; he is best known in Jeopardy! annals for a score of $68,000 in a celebrity game back in 2009. In his past appearances, Richter has averaged 29 correct, being in first on the buzzer on 50% of all clues, and has an average Coryat score of $25,700. He’s undoubtedly the favorite to win this match, if not the entire tournament. However, you never know what will happen—all three players are more than capable of pulling off a victory if the stars align in their direction!
Not much is currently known about the overall prize structure, other than that the tournament winner’s charity will receive $1 million.
Do note as well that results will not be posted until shortly after 9:00 PM Eastern tonight—the conclusion of the first airing in North America.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they can, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

- If you don’t have a runaway, you’re in jeopardy of losing in Final. And that happened tonight.
- I was very impressed with how well the 3-round, hour-long format worked. It gave the contestants a chance to have fun, and it gave the viewers at home a chance to see every clue.
