Recent Coryats:
originally 11-15-11: 9400 (19400 without 9 negs). The first time I played, my score was 20600, and would’ve been 26400 without 7 negs. Hey, I guess now that I’ve lost in real life I need not have any shame! It’s funny, I actually thought while I watched that I got one of the same ones wrong the first time.
My DVR’s misbehaving (shocker), and unfortunately it didn’t record the GSN rerun (originally airing 11-28-08) either time that it was on. Yet it recorded that ToC final twice. Not that it’s really related to Jeopardy!, but it didn’t record tennis either. Explain this to me: The red light was on indicating something was recording, yet the light wasn’t on that indicates the box is even turned on. I’ve never seen that happen.
Here are the people I’m tracking in the Summer Hiatus Challenge, from first place to last place in this round, followed by the clues for Week 3 Day 3. Clues are written by Dad of Twins.
Joon Pahk, Ryan Chaffee, and Julie Bratvold Ghanbari. These three got perfect scores! In fact, 19 people did.
Alison Stone Roberg, Kathy Wright, and David Menchaca (tie)
Robert
Moi?!?!
Andy
Liz Murphy (This is unofficial – see the note under the “Make” Me 6-pointer.)
Megan Barnes
Stefan Goodreau
Vito Cortese

“Make” Me
2: Sam Saboura was the original host of this ABC series; the “Home Edition” was later hosted by Ty Pennington. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz
4: This foundation raises money to provide special dream experiences to terminally and seriously ill children. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz
6: King Friday XIII rules over this imaginary land visited daily by Mr. Rogers’ trolley. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz
My response was accepted, as were Andy’s and Kathy’s. (They said the same thing, but Andy had an extra “u” in there. 😉 Liz’s score isn’t posted as I’m typing this, but I’ll assume her response is acceptable too.)
8: One Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes to win an Emmy in this category revolved around Riker serving temporarily on a Klingon ship. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz
I think I misread the clue, in my defense. Really, that doesn’t make me look any better!
10: Middle name of the Calcutta-born author of Vanity Fair. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz

Shakespearean Title Pairs
3: The “star-crossed” three-day fling between these two teenage characters ends with six people dead, including the title couple. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz
6: Six named characters, including the title pair, die in this play depicting the aftermath of the Battle of Actium. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz
9: In this play, Valentine and Proteus are friends, then they aren’t, then they are again, all the while Proteus falls in love with Julia, then Sylvia, then Julia again. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz
12: One member of this title pair is a prince of Troy, while his love is the daughter of a priest who defected to the Greeks. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz
15: Palamon and Arcite are the title characters in this play (probably) co-written by John Fletcher and based on The Knight’s Tale. David, Stefan, Alison, Joon, Robert, Megan, Ryan, Julie, Andy, Jeanie, Vito, Kathy, Liz

I liked Stefan’s joke “18-point” response in this category: “Titus and Ronicus.” 🙂 One guy actually asked if there was an 18-point clue somewhere that he hadn’t seen! ?!?
